Rennie Grove
Red Door Recruitment are proud Patrons of Rennie Grove. They provide palliative and end-of-life care based around patients and their families both day and night. All of their services are provided at no cost to the patient and they rely entirely on support to fund 87% of their £7.2 million annual running costs. We have taken part in a number of fund raising events for Rennie Grove and we are always looking for our next challenge to help raise much needed funds!
-
Cancer Research UK Shine Walk
The Red Door girls completed a half-marathon night walk around London to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK! They walked around the sights of London on a Saturday night through to the early hours of Sunday morning. It was a moving and emotional experience, knowing that everyone taking part had been affected in some way by cancer. They felt a great sense of achievement and pride when they completed the challenge and collected their medals. The girls would highly recommend the experience to anyone!
-
Wing Walk
In July 2018, Jo, Laura and Zoe raised a whopping £1,555 by taking part in a sponsored wing walk. These three crazy ladies travelled to Damyns Hall, Essex to meet with Aerobatic Tactics, who provided them with all the safety equipment and information they needed before getting strapped to the top of their biplane for a once in a lifetime experience!
-
Jingle Bell Jog & Fun Run
Over 420 runners of all ages from St Albans took part in Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s annual Jingle Bell Jog and Reindeer Run. The girls from Red Door were part of the crowd! An otherwise dull December day was transformed into one full of festive cheer as those taking part donned reindeer antlers or bright red Santa suits for their runs through the streets!
-
Sky Dive
Jo enjoys a good adrenaline rush so she jumped (no pun intended) at the chance of taking part in a skydive while also raising £325 for this great cause!
-
Question of Sport charity dinner
Every year we support Rennie Grove at the Question of Sport charity dinner evening held at Sopwell House Hotel. We put on our purple sashes and try to raise as much money as we can by getting generous local businesses to buy raffle tickets to win some fantastic prizes!

Kos Refugee appeal
We were really pleased to be part of the Kos Refugee appeal campaign in November 2015. Following a trip to Kos in the summer, Olivia from Wheathampstead, was so moved by the refugee situation she returned home determined to do something to help. She set up the Kos Refugee Christmas Appeal with a plan to ship 2,000 drawstring bags filled with essentials and small gifts in time for Christmas. Red Door Recruitment generously donated £250 to cause as well as filling bags too. Approximately 1500 bags were filled with a fantastic selection of clothes, gifts, toys and essentials, the campaign was considered a great success!

Mount Vernon Cancer Centre - Walking on Hot Coals
Mount Vernon enables the Cancer Centre to support patients above and beyond the NHS funding can afford; examples are state-of-the-art medical equipment, comfortable furnishings and funding support networks for patients and their families such as counselling services and financial advice.
To raise money for this great cause Louise and Jo (AKA The Red Door Daredevils) went head to head with hot coals and walked on fire! These coals heated to 950° - liquid lava can range between 700°-1200° to give you an idea of the kind of heat their tootsies were dealing with! They trained for two hours before they walked over the coals. During this time, Jo walked over broken glass and Louise broke an arrow with her neck! Proving mind of matter can and does work! A fantastic total of £610 raised! -
Home-Start Hertfordshire Pancake race
For the last couple of years we have taken part in the St Albans Pancake Race, supporting the charity Home-Start Hertfordshire. It has always been a roaring success, creating a great community atmosphere as hundreds gathered to watch teams from local business', charities and community groups flip their way up and down the street. You can either run or walk (continuously flipping your pancake), last year we reached the semi-finals of the running race!
