3 top tips for job seekers

Create an amazing CV

…it is essentially your 1st interview! and the better it is, the more likely you are to be chosen for an interview. Ask a friend to check it for you and look out for grammatical errors, always a turn off! Make sure your type face is the same throughout and use bullet points to describe your role. Cut out all the jargon and make it as generic as possible, appealing to a wide range of industries.

Ask as many questions as you need to

…to ensure you make the right decision about the company. Interviews are a meeting between you and the employer. They are an opportunity to see if you want the job but also does the employer think you are right for the role.

Prepare for your interview

…as though you were sitting an exam! What do you know about the company, use their website, and google to find out more info. Think about what you bring to the role, focussing on what you can do, not what you can’t do! Anticipate the questions you’ll be asked and how you’ll answer them. Ask about the team and department, you’ll be with them for 8 hours a day! Bring a notepad with your questions listed.
